Will "The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency" Return?
By Jillian Bowe on August 27, 2009

According to courant.com's Roger Catlin, during the Television Critics Association press tour last month, HBO officially made the announcement that their hit series, True Blood and Entourage were picked up for another season, along with the freshmen hit Hung. When asked about the critically acclaimed series The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency, HBO's president of programming Michael Lombardo told the crowd,

We're actually in conversations now and trying to figure out the next step on that show. That show has been a challenge creatively because, as you know, the creative vision behind that show, Anthony Minghella, unfortunately passed away, so we're trying to figure that out.
Although the show has gained a cult following, it hasn't grasped a ratings boom like its sister shows True Blood and Entourage. That hasn't swayed HBO executive Richard Plepler's thoughts on having the show return for a second season. Plepler reiterated,
The show did very well for us critically and with audiences, and we're very proud of it. So we're going to try to figure out a way to get it back.

Well the BBC picked it up for a second season, so it'll air in the states on another chanelle if not on HBO. Most likely on BBCAmerica. I call total bullshit, Anthony Minghella died before they even started filming the series, he directed the movie, the movie success is what lead to the show. The first eppy of the show on HBO was the tv movie.
