RIP: The CW Cancels The Beautiful Life

That was fast! The CW has cancelled The Beautiful Life: TBL after just two episodes, according to The Live Feed. This comes just days after The CW ordered new scripts of Vampire Diaries and Melrose Place. The network also picked up One Tree Hill for a full season. TBL's cancellation is the first of the new TV season.

Canceling "TBL" won't do it for The CW. They need to fire Dawn Ostroff ASAP. That should have been done three years ago.

I'm not really sad to see "TBL" go. I just wish to see Sara Paxton and Ben Hollingsworth in another show. But that's about it. The show itself wasn't bad ... but not good either.
Even though I would have liked to find out if Cole is the father of Sonja's daughter. Tongue

I'm not shocked it was basically DOA, what sucks is that i'm sure the CW will put a reality show in its place but yes Dawn Ostroff needs to go shes the one that has tried to take the CW away from supernatural shows with the cancellation of Charmed, Angel, her finger on the cancellation button of Supernatural and cancel Veronica Mars and Gilmore Girls only to bring vapid shows that should be fun but arent as fun as their 90's counterparts. 90210 and Melrose Place should be hits but Melrose which imo is better than 90210 is getting lower ratings there success story so far this season is Vampire Diaries capitilizing on the vamp genre and OTH who somehow has managed to go up in the ratings.

Is it just a coincidence that Eric Balfour just joined? Love the guy, but he has a history with joining shows and then the shows get canceled shortly thereafter.

I wonder if this qualifies Eric as a show killer? lol

Unrelated, Jamey or anyone, i have a question did we ever get to see Blake's sons, Jason and Kevin Marler, grow up. They are Roger's only grandsons right. O what could have been, can u imagine. damn Ellen Wheeler. i think Roger Thorpe was one of the most complex characters ever. On the P&G soap page, they are continuing the show via Mindy's twitter page and mentioned Leah flirting with Roger's grandsons, and Mindy not liking this. whats the backstory with Mindy and Roger again? Here is the link http://twitter.com/MelindaSueLewis. Thoughts, anyone?

Roger had two other grandsons. Roger's son Hart Jessup had a son with Bridget Reardon. His name was Peter and if you remember in the last week of GL Bridget said that her and Vanessa had taken Peter off to college at Springfield University. Hart also had a son with Cassie Winslow. His name was RJ...named after Roger.

Oh yeah as far as Mindy and Roger they had a relationship back in the early 90s. Billy and Roger were enemies. Billy beat up Roger after finding out about him having an affair with his daughter. He even temporarily was estranged from Mindy because of this. Billy ended up shooting Roger and going to jail for a couple years for it.

I hope they've got the good sense to add "The Body Politic" to its midseason schedule.

Can't say I am surprised, I saw the previews and knew it wouldn't last long. The sad thing is that the CW will probably put a reality show in its place. Fire Dawn Ostroff!!! She is ruining this network.

"Fire Dawn Ostroff!!! She is ruining this network."

I don't know what kind of ratings she can really expect when she caters her entire network to such a very tiny audience. And that show in particular looked like a huge piece of crap, wasn't even really sure how it made it to the air.

I wasn't going to comment because I've never watched TBL but I can't believe they canceled this and picked up more *Vampire Diaries?* No offense to fans of that show, but I watched the first episode and it was alright, but certianly nothing I expected to last.
