The Simpsons' Reject Beckham!

Fan's of Fox's animated comedy The Simpsons should not get their hopes up for a cameo by soccer star David Beckham anytime soon. The Daily Mirror is reporting that the footballer approached showrunners about a possible appearance, but was turned down because they didn't believe he was a big enough star for the United States audience.
Do you agree? Do you consider David to be a big star? Or is he still a nobody that's dating a Spice Girl?

I don't watch The Simpsons regularly but they have had lesser known celebrities on that show. And nobody or not I'd take being a nobody if I had his money!
