Katherine Heigl "ThisClose" to Leaving Grey's Anatomy

Katherine Heigl is "thisclose" to leaving Grey's Anatomy and her final episode may have already aired, according to Michael Ausiello at EW.com.
Sources confirm to me exclusively that series creator Shonda Rhimes has agreed to release the fast-rising movie star from her contract. It’s now up to ABC Studios and Heigl’s reps to hash out a final exit agreement.
The source adds that talks between Heigl and ABC have been going on for months and last week both sides mutually decided that the best solution would be to part ways now as opposed to at the end of the season. As a result, Heigl is not expected to return to the Grey’s set, which means her final episode as Izzie has already aired.

That confuses me since she reported to work 2 weeks ago for the final 5 episodes. Personally, she should have left when they 'killed' her off. Her time on set this season has been insulting and they just need to get rid of her.

Good riddance, Kathy!! I have NEVER liked this woman!!! She just seems so damned BITCHY! I can actually SMELL the bitch seeping through my television set whenever she is on!!! If she leaves the show, she won't be NEARLY as successful anywhere else!!!
She is NOT gonna be the next Julia Roberts or Charlize Theron, so I hope she's prepared to beg for work somewhere else!!!
I really don't care where she goes, but I am hoping she goes there soon!!! Her presence on "Grey's Anatomy" is dragging an otherwise great show down!!!!
PS--While I must admit that Katherine is a great actress, there is an UNLIMITED pool of actresses out there who are equally as talented if not MORE talented than she is, but who aren't gonna try to bite the hands that feed them!!!
C-list actors and actresses (like Heigl) must remember that the show must go on, and there is always someone out there BETTER who is waiting in the wings to take your place after you shoot yourself in the foot!!!!!

I can't believe anyone could miss her, since she pretty much left a wicked wake this season before she left. I'm just glad she won't have to suffer so much working at the show that made her a star and an Emmy winner. Her lack of gratitude is now biting her in the ass, and I hope it takes a good chunk out of it.

As much as I don't like to follow that line of thinking, I'm inclined to agree. Don't get me wrong, I like KH, but I thought her over the top ramblings about IW were just that. Over the top. She hasn't been on much and I just don't miss her.

I'm not going to say that I'm happy Katherine is leaving because of who she is as a person, but I am going to say that I'm happy she's leaving because I can't stand Izzy. I think the last time I found her tolerable was in season 2 after Denny died, and from that point on she's been pretty damn annoying.
Wait, I take that back, there was that episode where she saved the deer. I blame that on my love of animals.
I loathe that they sucked poor Alex into the Izzy vortex full time, and I'm glad he'll finally be free.

She was standing up for her friend, how awful. The reason IW got fired was because he hijacked the mic from the EP in the pressroom when Greys won best show at the Golden Globes. I saw that and cringed, everyone had there mouth open in horror. IW had the job after the name calling and fist fight on the set,. He then went to rehab for I don't know what to help his image in the press. He even went to Africa and got photographed helping orphans. It was him being a jackass at the globes that got him fired. Which is a real shame because IW is a great actor. KH didn't get him fired, he got himself fired.

NO, IW was just defending himself from the nasty rumors that was going on out there and KH is so stuck on herself and think that she don't need the show is a big mistake. She shouldn't be knocked a show that got her big break.

IW was a jerk and deserved to get fired. Ladyofthelake forgot to mention that in the press room he said the F word again, which he didn't seem to be sorry for. He's disrespectful to his co-workers.
As far as Katherine goes, I've like some of her movies and she's been great on Grey's, and it was great when she stood up for her gay friend on Grey's. But with being so outspoken about Grey's, Emmy nominations and her role in Knocked Up makes her look bad. Just because she's had a few hit movies doesn't mean she's gonna be a movie star.
And it is sad that her character won't have closure, she could have at least done that for her fans and Grey's fans.

I like Gray's so much better this season. Good riddance to Heigl. I think she is a pretty girl and that is about it. As far as I know there was closure. Alex told her he loved her but after what she did he wanted her to leave and not come back. The scene took place in the locker room.
