David Hasselhoff on Y&R Return: "It Was So Surreal"

MSN.com's Deanna Barnert dished with David Hasselhoff about his return to former stomping ground The Young and the Restless. The actor opens up on how it feels to be back to the suders after 27 years.

Hasselhoff revealed,

It was amazing coming back here. It was so surreal. I was talking to Wings Hauser (Greg), who came back. It was like we never left. Wings and I were laughing, making jokes, still being cocky crazy. Everybody was so positive. It was, without a doubt, an amazing four days. After the first day, I said, 'Oh god, I've got to go home and learn these lines! And there's no cue cards?' They said, 'We'll bring you cue cards,' but I said, 'No, I don't want cue cards, I want to see if I can do this.' It was very different from the way it used to be, but I loved it. We just got out there and screwed around - that's the technique I've always used to distract myself, so I don’t get nervous. It was like a big family. I was smiling for four days, and I haven't smiled for four days in a long time.

David Hasselhoff Heads Back To Y&R

David Hasselhoff
is making his way back to Genoa City. According to Entertainment Weekly, the actor will reprise the role of Willian "Snapper" Foster, younger brother of Jill (Jess Walton) for a storyline that will appear onscreen in June.  Says Hasselhoff,

In 1976, Bill Bell, creator of America’s No. 1 soap opera, took a chance on a young and very green actor,” Hasselhoff said in a statement given exclusively to EW.com. “Playing Snapper in 850 shows during the six years I appeared molded my craft, my attitude and my work ethic. Being asked to come back to appear in several episodes gives me a chance to say thanks, as I have an amazing amount of respect and heartfelt emotion for Bill, his family and my time on Young and the Restless. I just hope I can remember all those lines.

Along with Hasselhoff, Wings Hauser will also return to The Young and the Restless as big brother Greg Foster. READ MORE

Baywatch the Movie, a Comedy?

This just in. Variety is reporting that Baywatch is coming to the big screen, as a comedy. No mention is made of whether or not David Hasselhoff, Yasmine Bleeth or Pamela Anderson would appear in the film.

"It felt like the template to do a movie that was similar to 'Stripes' and 'Police Academy,' the comedies I loved growing up," Garelick said. "Rather than trying to pitch the tone, I figured it would be easier to write the first act to convey who these characters were," Garelick said.

There may have been things to laugh at when watching Baywatch, but I never thought of it as a "broad comedy."  It will be interesting to see how this project develops.

Should a Baywatch movie be a drama or a comedy?
