Melrose Place "You Don't Think I Have Changed?" Promo

Now is it just me, or do you think that this should have been Heather Locklear's return episode? Watch the promo after the jump. READ MORE

Amanda Woodward, The Bitch Who Came Back

Ella Simms, the resident, blonde beyotch played by Katie Cassidy on The CW's struggling update of Melrose Place, didn't know what hit her on Tuesday night's episode. That's because the parent soap's original Ms. Nasty Skirt, Heather Locklear, recreated her signature role as scheme queen Amanda Woodward.

Unfortunately, this time around the late Aaron Spelling's "lucky penny" didn't exactly cause ratings to soar. According to The Live Feed, last night's installment of MP, which revealed Amanda to be the secret owner of the posh, PR firm Ella works for, only resulted in a 14 percent bump. I blame it on the lame promos.

Ripping off The Devil Wears Prada is not the way to go when announcing the triumphant return of primetime's most lethal blonde. The CW should have shelled out for a high octane song from Pink or Fergie, and utilized flashback clips from the original show. READ MORE

Melrose Place Blonde vs. Blonde Promo

She's BACK! Yes the great Heather Locklear makes her triumphant return to Melrose Place tonight!
So are you tuning in? If so, is this your first time this season or have you been watching the update this whole time? Shout out in the comments below.

Don't Turn Your Back on Amanda

If the newbies at Melrose Place thought they had their hands full with Sydney they're in for something on a whole different level. In a released statement, The CW is confirming that Heather Locklear (Amanda Woodward) will return to Melrose Place on November 17th. Is this another saving stunt? Fans of the original recipe MP remember that Locklear's addition to the cast as a "special guest star" saved the ratings stunted spin off.

According to the Producers:

“We are ecstatic to have the chance to bring Amanda Woodward back to ‘Melrose Place,’” adding, “Heather’s involvement in the show is something we’ve been working on for some time as we couldn’t imagine creating and producing this show without the iconic character’s inclusion.”

Heather Locklear Says No To Melrose Return

Despite reports that Heather Locklear was close to signing on for the new Melrose Place, Entertainment Weekly is reporting that she has turned down the opportunity. EW quotes a source close to the situation:
There wasn't a way to bring her back that made sense.

With Ashlee Simpson-Wentz already cast on Melrose redux, and Locklear out, things are not looking too promising from where I'm sitting.

One former star desperate to get a role is Lisa Rinna. We Love Soaps has a snap of her with a huge "Honk 4 Lisa Rinna on the new Melrose Place!" sign around her neck. Apparently, she was out campaigning on the real Melrose Place, Los Angeles, yesterday.

Heather Locklear Returning To Melrose

Michael Ausiello
at Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Heather Locklear is as good as confirmed for the upcoming Melrose Place remake. And, let's face it, what would Melrose be without Amanda Woodward?

On a related note, Jack Wagner's contract with The Bold and the Beautiful is said to be up for renewal in April, and though he is widely thought to be signing to B&B again, there's always the possibility that he'll jump ship and join real life partner Heather on Melrose. His character, Dr. Peter Burns, ended up marrying Amanda Woodward, so it would make sense.

The CW Chief Talks Melrose Place and Heather Locklear

The CW's Dawn Ostroff took questions about the new Melrose Place her network is working on and responded to whether or not Heather Locklear might be apart of any new version of the popular show. Here are a couple of the quotes.

What about the show's tone? one reporter asked. Will it be "earnest first-season Melrose or crazy, Kimberly-blows-up-the-apartment-complex Melrose?"

"We've actually had that exact conversation," Ostroff says. "I think it's certainly not crazy [and] people being blown up in the beginning. I think initially you've got to really get invested in the characters, but I also think it can't be so dramatic and sort of sleepy that not enough is going on. Our fans really love some of that heightened drama, as they can see when they watch One Tree Hill or Gossip Girl."

"We've talked about everyone, but we haven't talked to anyone yet," she says. "... Of course Heather would be one of the people we talk about, because when you think about Melrose Place she's one of the first people you think of."

Heather Locklear's DUI Dismissed

ET Online has confirmed that Heather Locklear's DUI has been dismissed. "Heather now has to pay a $700 fine, attend a 12-hour Driver's Education course and be on informal probation." Now that she doesn't have to worry about the DUI maybe she'll agree to joining the new Melrose.

Heather Locklear Is A Wanted Woman

Heather Locklear is a wanted woman. E! Online's Mark Malkin is reporting that Locklear has been approached to reprise her role as Amanda Woodward. Also of interest in the article is that Malkin's source told him "I don't think anyone else from the original has been approached yet." If true it would mean that Lisa Rinna, who told Malkin earlier this year "I would do it in a heartbeat", hasn't been contacted.

Would a Melrose remake need Heather Locklear?
