Could The Big Bang Theory's Ratings Explode This Fall?

The Big Bang Theory is primed to explode this fall as it returns for its third season. For the past several years Two and a Half Men has been CBS' No. 1 rated comedy. This summer, however, The Big Bang Theory reruns have beaten it, among 18-49 viewers, at least three times, according to TV By the Numbers. Might The Big Bang Theory overtake Two and a Half Men in the regular season? The Big Bang Theory returns to CBS on Sept. 21.

The Big Bang Theory is about to start its THIRD season. An ad on page 18 of the September 7 issue of TV Guide shows the 2nd season being available on DVD on September 15.

I love both Two and A Half Men and The Big Bang Theory, but I think Two And A Half Men is getting tired, not to mention the fact that Jake is growing up, lessening the cuteness factor. How many times can Charlie not commit to a relationship? How many times can Alan lose at love? Meanwhile, The Big Bang Theory is still fresh, with quirky characters like Sheldon and Penny. I hope to see more of Sara Gilbert's character, Leslie this season, too. Her snarkiness as she trades barbs w/ Sheldon is fun. Both shows are still good, but Two And A Half Men needs a little freshening up.

ITA with elbugten they will have to change the name to three men pretty soon won't they? I'd love to see Charlie settle down and Alan get his playa goin on. Perhaps the joke would be fresh again if Charlie had an ex show up with his child and he becomes the stick in the mud and Alan becomes the wild child and Jake picks up his dads inability to be smooth for awhile?

BBT: love it so much but Sheldon was more enjoyable at first. I think he and Leslie need to couple up!

An  intelligent comedy, how rare. I was one of those guys a long time ago, in a galaxy far away...my favorite thing was being president of my city's chess club. I really believe Big Bang Theory is one of those TV sitcoms that strikes a chord with a huge audience. I loved the episode with the battling cuties... I'm thinking Big Bang Theory might be around a long time.
