Smallville's 10th Season Will Be Its Final

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Smallville's 10th season will be its last. This should come as no surprise, as the show has been having trouble in the ratings for the past few years. The current season was anticipated by many in the industry to be its last. However, the CW gave the green light for another season after its ratings improved slightly.

Criminal Minds' Shemar Moore: "The Soap Opera Days Were Like High School"

Mercury News.com caught up with former The Young and the Restless star Shemar Moore, who was on a location shoot for Criminal Minds, his hit CBS crime drama, and asked about his time on soaps.  He responded,

I've had a lot of success in 16 years, but in some ways it still feels brand-new because there's still so much I haven't done," he says. "I treat my career like school. The soap opera days were like high school. I got my diploma and graduated.

"Now I'm in college, and hopefully I'll go to grad school (feature films) and catch the bus with Denzel Washington, Jamie Foxx, Will Smith and the others."

Katherine Heigl "ThisClose" to Leaving Grey's Anatomy

Katherine Heigl is "thisclose" to leaving Grey's Anatomy and her final episode may have already aired, according to Michael Ausiello at EW.com.

Sources confirm to me exclusively that series creator Shonda Rhimes has agreed to release the fast-rising movie star from her contract. It’s now up to ABC Studios and Heigl’s reps to hash out a final exit agreement.

The source adds that talks between Heigl and ABC have been going on for months and last week both sides mutually decided that the best solution would be to part ways now as opposed to at the end of the season. As a result, Heigl is not expected to return to the Grey’s set, which means her final episode as Izzie has already aired.

FOX Renews Fringe!

FOX recently announced it has renewed the sci fi, cult drama Fringe for a third season!

FRINGE tapped into a deep creative mine this year that built momentum throughout the season and helped give us our first real foothold on TV's most competitive night," said Reilly. "The entire FRINGE team - from the producers and writers to the cast and crew - has taken smart storytelling and top production quality to a whole new level. The rest of this season is mind-blowing, and we can't wait to get started on the third installment of this amazing journey."

Are you happy about this news? Do you think the show can survive a third season?

Thomas Calabro Isn't Counting Out Second Season of Melrose Place

Melrose Place is not dead yet! At least that is what star Thomas Calabro (Dr. Michael Mancini) wants us to think.

The actor told E! Online

"Right now, we're airing our first five or six episodes internationally, and I think the show's a big international hit. That's enough to bring a show back.

"The original Melrose Place struggled at first, too, and it ended up being a hit for seven seasons," Calabro continued. "We ended up being a defining mark of the '90s, and I don't see any reason why that can't happen again." READ MORE

James Van Der Beek Enjoyed Stint on One Tree Hill

In a recent interview with MTV former Dawson's Creek heartthrob James Van Der Beak stated that he had a really good time while filming One Tree Hill.
I had a lot of fun doing that actually. I had a lot of fun on 'One Tree Hill'. At first my agent was like 'You can't do this. You’ve done so many guest stars.' I was like 'Okay.' But then I read the script and thought 'Okay this is fun.'"
