It's official: The CW cancels MELROSE PLACE #duh'

There's a "New Guy" at the Complex Tonight on Melrose Place

Melrose Place is BACK!  and if this promo is any indication of what is to come, it looks like things are starting to heat up.

Recently, veteran Melrose Place star Thomas Calabro stated that he believes Melrose 2.0 will be back for a second season.

Thomas Calabro Isn't Counting Out Second Season of Melrose Place

Melrose Place is not dead yet! At least that is what star Thomas Calabro (Dr. Michael Mancini) wants us to think.

The actor told E! Online

"Right now, we're airing our first five or six episodes internationally, and I think the show's a big international hit. That's enough to bring a show back.

"The original Melrose Place struggled at first, too, and it ended up being a hit for seven seasons," Calabro continued. "We ended up being a defining mark of the '90s, and I don't see any reason why that can't happen again." READ MORE

Will SOAPnet Pick Up One Tree Hill?

Melrose Place is as good as canned, but could One Tree Hill be headed for SOAPnet if The CW doesn't renew it? According to Spoiler TV it may just happen.

One Tree Hill: There are some messy contracts and negotiations and it could go either way but even if renewed it will likely have budget cuts and maybe lose more cast members and producers. SOAPnet has the option of renewing it if the CW were to cancel it.

Fans can reportedly expect official renewal announcements for Gossip Girl, 90210, Smallville, Supernatural, America's Next Top Model and The Vampire Diaries later this month.

Which CW Series Has Been the Worst This Fall?

In the "Which The CW Series Has Been the Best this Fall?" post I mentioned that that Gossip Girl has been a disappointment for me this fall, but I wouldn't say it is the worst. Melrose Place has struggled to find an identity, but was miles ahead of 90210 which has been, well, 90210.

Which CW Series Has Been the Best This Fall?

With Christmas coming soon and the midseason TV series debuts in January not far behind, we're taking a look back at the 2009 Fall TV season. First up, The CW with its teen centric programming. By CW standards Vampire Diaries has been a ratings and demographic success, but Melrose Place has underwhelmed. Personally, I think Gossip Girl has been a disappointment this season, but just when I'm ready to throw something at my TV they pull off an episode like the Thanksgiving episode and suck me back in.

Amanda Woodward, The Bitch Who Came Back

Ella Simms, the resident, blonde beyotch played by Katie Cassidy on The CW's struggling update of Melrose Place, didn't know what hit her on Tuesday night's episode. That's because the parent soap's original Ms. Nasty Skirt, Heather Locklear, recreated her signature role as scheme queen Amanda Woodward.

Unfortunately, this time around the late Aaron Spelling's "lucky penny" didn't exactly cause ratings to soar. According to The Live Feed, last night's installment of MP, which revealed Amanda to be the secret owner of the posh, PR firm Ella works for, only resulted in a 14 percent bump. I blame it on the lame promos.

Ripping off The Devil Wears Prada is not the way to go when announcing the triumphant return of primetime's most lethal blonde. The CW should have shelled out for a high octane song from Pink or Fergie, and utilized flashback clips from the original show. READ MORE
